Choose Art

What I Expected, What I Got… – from The Virgin As Intercessor by Anthony van Dyck (1628-1629)

As one of the finest retouchers we’ve seen so far, Mehmet Geren chose art icons to express his creative universe and humour. He’s not the first one, but his work is certainly to be ranked for his sophistication. His repertoire covers artistic and pop references, among others, as Vincent van Gogh, Mona Lisa, Frida Kahlo and The Birth of Venus, Academic art masterpieces, characters from Trainspotting, The Exorcist or Léon: The Professional, and the irreverent Breakdancing Jesus by Cosmo Sarson.

Based in Ankara, Turkey, Mehmet is a freelance high-end editorial and commercial fashion and beauty retoucher with years working experience. In 2010, he was awarded the IPA Editorial: Personality Honourable Mention Award and has worked with many clients, magazines, beauty adverts and photographers such as Femelle Campaign, Gucci and Calvin Klein, just to name a few.
