When Veronica Duque appeared in front of the class in her internal organs bodysuit, with the aim of teaching students anatomy, she said there was “confusion, shouts, applause and some covered their eyes”. The teacher arrived at the lesson at Maria Teresa Inigo de Toro school, in Valladolid, Spain, wearing a white coat before removing it to a mixed reaction.
She just wanted to make the class more practical, so used the outfit to pique her students’ interests before turning to the traditional plastic bust the school uses to teach anatomy. She found the costume by pure chance after seeing an advert online and decided to buy it, especially “because the organs are seen from behind.”
A fellow teacher snapped some pictures of the unusual lesson and sent them to her husband, who uploaded them to Twitter where they went viral.
But this is not the first time Veronica puts creativity in her way of teaching. She also uses cardboard crowns to help her students learn grammar and disguises to teach history lessons. Almost everyone said I hope more teachers like her.
