Pets Rock

Mark grew up surrounded by a variety of animals. He was an international still life who gave it all up to draw cats in hats and dogs in wigs. Kate grew up on a farm and then became commercial stylist and model maker. Their encounter led to the birth of design company Takkoda, in 2005, launching a range of anthropomorphic pet characters that appeared on a collection of kid apparel and stationary. The old adage that “People look like their pets” combined with their interest in Pop culture, the global celebrity phenomenon and their love of animals led to the creation of Pets Rock, in 2008.

Since then, Mark and Kate Polyblank’s Pets Rock® phenomenon has spread from its London base to leading UK stores, and on to a global network of licensees and retailers whose customers are barking mad for their furry friends. With more than 80 characters in the Pets Rock® world and many more waiting to be let off the leash, you’re never far from one of their pop culture pets.
