Everyday Incidents

Some of his comics are quite socially critical, but that really concerns overarching, larger themes. Money, greed, social media… Never about a group or person. And if there is any criticism incorporated in a cartoon, “it is often criticism of myself”, he summarizes briefly.

Doede Okkema, aka Antwoord, from Friesland, Netherlands, is just a cartoonist with a good eye for small, absurd incidents in everyday life. Incidents that, in their own way, leave a mark. Sometimes it’s about “complete nonsense”, sometimes a comic with a deeper meaning.
